Often, musicians only have opportunities to sit in front of judges in high-stakes performances, such as ensemble auditions, regional and state solo competitions, or music school applications. You may submit up to 15 minutes of repertoire, allowing you an opportunity to showcase yourself playing different instruments or in different styles.

Applying Critique to Your Practice Sessions

After you submit your pieces, our judges will review them and provide you with their written critique. Judges do not collaborate or communicate, so each review is unique. Although critique may vary due to differing expertise or stylistic preferences, you will likely find common threads between each writeup, which will show you where to focus most in future practices. This will allow you to feel more confident and well-prepared for those performances that matter most for your musical development.
